How Meta advertising works for B2B (why it's not just B2C)
Your buyers are on Facebook and Instagram, whether or not they are thinking about work while they scroll. The firms that fail on Meta treat it like Google. Here is the difference, and the funnel that works.
Meta is a channel, not a demographic
Marketing is 3 things: the market (who you sell to), the message (the problem you solve), and distribution (how the message reaches them). Meta is just a distribution channel.
It is expected to overtake Google as the world's largest ad platform, with 4 billion monthly users. The question is not “is Facebook for B2B”. It is “do my buyers spend time there”. They do.
Example: CRM software for US manufacturing. 100k to 250k people touch those decisions. 75 to 80% of US adults use Meta every day. The overlap you can reach: 70k to 200k buyers. No other channel puts that many in one place.
Why "we tried Meta and it didn't work"
Almost always because the funnel was built like Google.
Google is intent-based: the buyer is already searching for a solution. Meta is interruption-based: nobody is looking for you. You stop the scroll, land one message, give one next step.
So every ad needs 3 things:
- -A call-out that names exactly who you are speaking to
- -A condensed, scroll-stopping version of your offer
- -One next action, usually booking a call
Send cold Meta traffic to your website and hope, and it will not convert. That is the mistake, not the channel.
Google is not the safer bet anymore either. ChatGPT has taken a large share of its search volume. Firms spending $15k a month on Google have watched performance drop sharply this year.
The funnel
Deliberately simple:
- -A Meta ad written for one specific buyer
- -A native Meta lead form with qualifying questions, so the algorithm learns who to chase
- -A booking page with one job: book the call
- -A fractional BDR plus AI follow-up for everyone who filled the form but did not book
It works.
The numbers
250+ sales opportunities in the last 2 months, including conversations with Verizon, Patagonia and Tata.
$46 to $500-600 per showed-up, pre-qualified call. Not per lead. On ad spend from $4k a month; some clients spend $15k or more.
We build and run the whole system for our clients.
